Wonder where to start with home STEM experiments? Watch our video!
Parents often wonder what kind of home science experiments they can show their children. We made a short video to give you some hints.
The video is mostly inspired by experiments already described in our previous episodes of the STEM Education Newsletter. After watching the video, you can find instructions and explanations in the newsletter’s archive.
The motivation for creating this video came from the invitation that I received from the producers of the science TV show “Third element” on the Croatian Radiotelevision (Croatia's public TV). They cover various science topics and for the last episode of this season they wanted to cover the topic of physics STEM experiments that parents can do at home together with their kids.
The guests were also dr. Vernesa Smolčić and dr. Nikola Poljak, both from the Faculty of Science of the University of Zagreb. The show hosts were scientists dr. Marko Košiček and dr.Jelena Šuran.
Since I wanted to briefly show some examples of such home experiments, this video was created. Special thanks go to Jan Novak who was behind the camera and edited the video. Zoran Novak help a lot by various advice on how to improve the video.
Enjoy the video linked below (turn on English subtitles) and, if you have not already, subscribe for free to my newsletter. After a long break, I am finally wrapping up the next episode on the topic of light interference and how this phenomenon connects soap bubbles, shiny beetles, weird rainbow chocolate, and many other seemingly unrelated things.
